Research interests include the ecology of marine ecosystems, marine invertebrates, essential fish habitat, and marine turtles.

While at the Biology Department of the University of Puerto Rico I investigated the relationship between hawksbill sea turtles and epibiota (organisms living on the surface of another).  I described the flora and fauna that overgrow the external surfaces of the hawksbill sea turtle in Mona and Monito Islands, Puerto Rico.

Currently I am a PhD student at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus.  I share my studies with the Fisheries Lab at the Marine Sciences Department.

The Sea Grant College Program has supported some of my work and I am indebited to all the staff at the Mayaguez office. The Caribbean Coral Reef Institute supports my research project at Mona Island Natural Reserve.
